Linh Mục Nguyễn Văn Lý được để cử lãnh giải thưởng Sacharow 2009 cùng với chín nhân sĩ trên thế giới, đấu tranh đòi hỏi Dân Chủ, Nhân Quyền và Quyền Tự Do con người.
